Canadian duo Faith Healer’s sound comes across as breezy and carefree, and that’s apparently also true of the process behind their new video for “& Waiting,” from the band’s 2017 album Try ;-).
The dreamy, classic AM radio-influenced track got its video after the group made the best of a bad situation: The show the day before didn’t go so well, so the next day, they decided to go to the beach, when they just went ahead and shot a music video on their phones. The duo also describes the gig they played after filming the video as “one of the funnest shows on the tour”:
“The night before Pensacola, we were in New Orleans and the show there was like a weird disaster. The band we were touring with didn’t even get to play their set, we didn’t make a dime, and nobody cared. So the next morning, we were like, ‘F-ck it, let’s go to the beach,’ and we left pretty early to get to Pensacola. We had no idea that the beach there is like the nicest beach in Florida, and considering we’re Canadian and it was November, we were loving it. So we filmed this music video on our iPhones on the beach and then played one of the funnest shows on the tour at this open air bar called The Handlebar. The aging owner was dancing like a maniac in front of the stage and puked right in front of me, but he didn’t have to leave because he owned the place. Was pretty sick.”
