Future And Gucci Mane Just Dropped A Whole Damn Mixtape Together

It seems like Gucci Mane is constantly teasing a new mixtape, album or song so when he was talking one up this past week it seemed rather innocuous. Just another Gucci tape for the rotation, except it was much more than that. Suddenly, at 1017 of course, Gucci hopped on Twitter and dropped off a brand new mixtape with Future titled Free Bricks 2K16 for everybody’s listening pleasure.

Clocking in at just six songs, Free Bricks features production from all the usual suspects including Metro Boomin’, Southside, and Zaytoven. Guwop talked to Miss Info about the tape Monday night, revealing all six songs were recorded in one session late Sunday night in Atlanta.

We ditched our entourages, we didn’t book my usual studio, or his usual studio,” he told Info. “It’s like we knew we wanted to fly under the radar. There was like this positive competition in the room. I’d hear him go in on a verse, and I knew I had to step up.”

He went on to say that even Future didn’t think the tape was dropping so soon, and “I knew we couldn’t just sit on it.” The tape is a sequel to their 2011 mixtape Free Bricks, which sandwiches Free Bricks 2 from 2013 with Gucci and Young Scooter. It’s a celebration of sorts, as Gucci scored his first No. 1 record of his career Monday with his guest appearance on Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles.”
