Lil Uzi Vert — like Young Thug before him — has faced some serious criticism from the hip-hop world for his occasionally feminine fashion choices. Of course, a lot of this talk about his clothing is just a thin-as-a-sheer-blouse cover for some deep-down homophobia. But the Philly rocker/rapper behind the dark-horse candidate for Song of the Summer thinks that all the hate is a matter of being uninformed. And he has a simple fix.

Sway Calloway asked him about the criticism he receives outside of the Billboard Music Awards. And Uzi’s answer was part boast and part-PSA.

“You know what it is?” he asked. “They never felt these fabrics before. That’s all it is.”

When Sway brought up the $2400 shirt that had 50 Cent confused, the rapper admitted that the Valentino top he was wearing to the awards show was also $2400.

In addition, the rapper said that his new mixtape Luv Is Rage 2 will drop “sooner than soon.” That’s great news, if only because it will allow us to avoid incidents like this one in the future.

This interview puts at least one story to bed. At least we finally know that that viral suspect sketch wasn’t Uzi. They probably would have told the artist if the suspect was looking fabulous.
