My Morning Jacket Gets You Ready For Their New Album With A Spirited Performance On ‘The Tonight Show’

My Morning Jacket played a melodic, soft-rock set on The Tonight Show, and frontman Jim James, sporting a rather colorful coat, stretched his vocals like taffy, hitting some piercing high notes toward the end of their performance. Their seventh album, The Waterfall, is being released Tuesday, so make sure you cop that.

  • The Avett Brothers and Brandi Carlile brought their twangy, Southern charm to Letterman’s show. Their sweet, syrupy sounds actually lulled me into a half slumber full of pastures, tumbleweeds, and lactating cows. In other words… bliss.

  • Over on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Imagine Dragons and REO Speedwagon continued the tradition of mashup Mondays on the program by combining their sets.
