In case you were thinking Ryan Adams’ plan to cover Taylor Swift’s 1989 in its entirety was a joke, the Heartbreaker singer-songwriter shared the news that the rough mix of the album is finished, offering up two new snippets from the album while he was at it.
Adams shared an acoustic, bare-bones rendition of Swift’s bombastic anthem “Blank Space” and a cover of “Style” that’s more MBV than TS. The “Style” cover in particular shows how serious Adams is about his latest project, with layers on layers of floating, crashing guitars backing up the singer’s take on a pop song.
Check out “Style” up top and “Blank Space” below:

The two new clips join previous ones that Adams has shared for “Out of the Woods” and “All You Had to Do Was Stay.” There’s no word on a release date, but we’re hoping he uses this T-Swift twist on Sonic Youth’s Goo cover.
