Taylor Swift spent her Saturday Instagramming up a pop-star storm with her new Emmy award. Swift received a technical gong for the Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media Original Interactive Program, which was awarded for her AMEX Unstaged: Taylor Swift Experience special. Swift adds to this to her cache of Grammy, AMA, Billboard, and VMA awards. Swift was so thrilled to branch into television success that she posted pictures of herself and her on-tour buds alongside her overnighted trophy: “WHEN THEY OVERNIGHT YOU AN EMMY. I DID NOT KNOW THIS WAS A THING.”
If only they could come up with an award for Outstanding Achievement in Squad Assembling, then Taylor could sweep the show. This Emmy is a technical award, so sadly, we won’t be seeing Swift at the September 20 ceremony. Yet her presence still lingers all over the Internet and even inspires weathermen to get creative with their broadcasts.
In tangentially related news, this award may ease Swift’s pain over a brand new lawsuit from a former Colorado DJ. David Mueller lost his job after a 2013 meet-and-greet, which ended when Swift alleged that he lifted her “skirt with his hands and grabbed her bottom.” Mueller denied the accusations that Mueller posed with Swift and copped a covert feel during a photo op. Mueller immediately lost his job, and he wants to recover his $150,000 annual income that immediately disappeared after Swift’s security ejected him from the premises.
If Swift is worried about the lawsuit, she’s not showing it. She posted several captions such as “If you need us, we’ll be taking selfies with the Emmy ALL DAY.” Followed by “We have no chill. The Emmy has rendered us chill-less.” The real star of these photos is neither Swift nor her shiny statuette. The model-like fellow featured in most of these photos is Giuseppe Giofre, one of the backup dancers that Katy Perry has yet to poach. This guy is lighting up Swift’s comments, and she must know his star power, for she featured him in an Instavideo clip.
