No one should be shocked to learn that Raury is a vegan. Everything the Atlanta rapper does projects an aura of flower power. But I’m not sure it’s possible to keep your jaw off the floor when you hear that Waka Flocka – that master of hard-charging, gun-toting, squad-barking trap bravado – is also a vegan. The very different ATL rappers came together over their love of plant-based substitutes, and shared the perfect way to make cruelty-free blueberry muffins on an episode of Munchies.
During the episode, a noticeably trimmer Flocka explains the reason that he decided to go vegan.
“I didn’t want to be fat. I got tired of breathing hard. I got tired of my joints hurting. I just got tired of being lied to.”
Both rappers admitted that being vegan isn’t easy and that they both miss meat.
“I miss Chik-Fil-A, bruh,” Raury said. “I have wet dreams about Chik-Fil-A.”
Other than that revealing look into Raury’s life, the video is worth a watch just so you can see Waka learning what lemon zest is in real-time. When he grates the lemon, Waka concedes that the process isn’t as fun as “lemon zest” sounds.
“Jesus christ. Can we fast forward this? Try to make your little brother do this part for fun, it’ll work better for you.”
Oh yeah, the blueberry muffins look alright, too.
