Saturday night’s middleweight bout between WBC champ Miguel Cotto and Daniel Geale featured this vicious left hook that sent Geale flying into the ropes. Cotto later went on to knockout Geale one more time en route to a 4th round TKO.
It appears Cotto is headed for a showdown with former light middleweight champ Canelo Alvarez. Cotto basically said as much in his post fight interview with HBO’s Max Kellerman.
“Let’s do it. Before that, I want to spend some time with my family and enjoy them again, but then it’s back to L.A. and training for Canelo.”
Cotto-Alvarez may not have the pay-per-view numbers of Mayweather-Pacquiao, but what it lacks in star power it makes up for with pure knockout entertainment.
