Potentially scary news out of Seattle Tuesday evening. Per multiple eye-witness accounts, a car reportedly containing Seattle Seahawks running back Fred Jackson crashed into a pole near the team’s practice facility. According to TMZ, Jackson was “drag racing” with fellow Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch with another report saying the car reached 80 mph:

The accident happened right near the team’s practice facility outside Seattle, and according to witnesses Jackson and Lynch were racing down a straight away on a public street … as they left practice. Fred was in a black Corvette and Marshawn in a red Dodge Charger.
Police showed up, but we’re told Seahawks staffers showed up and took Jackson back to the team facility — and Lynch drove off, uninjured. It’s unclear if Jackson suffered any injuries.

Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports corroborated reports that Jackson is “fine” after the accident, which is amazing, considering these images of the wreck:

As of now, there has been no confirmation of what led to the accident. However, it appears the idea of “drag racing” isn’t universally agreed upon. Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com reports such a preceding event did not happen:

However, if Lynch was involved, this would not be his first time in a traffic-related accident. In 2008 while he was a member of the Buffalo Bills, Lynch had his driver’s license revoked for a hit-and-run. In 2012, Lynch was charged with a DUI.

Jackson is in his first season with Seattle after joining the team from the Buffalo Bills.

Update: Fred Jackson has taken to Twitter to confirm he was in the accident. However, it sounds as though Lynch was not involved:
