Colts Punter Pat McAfee Would Really Appreciate Antonio Brown Not Clowning Him On Thanksgiving

Indianapolis Colts kicker Pat McAfee is hoping to avoid a eating a football cleat to the face this Thanksgiving.

McAfee is mostly hoping not to be embarrassed by Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver and kick returner Antonio Brown, who has a bit of a history of stomping on punters that get between him and the end zone.

McAfee has a very active Twitter account and used it on Wednesday to ask Brown to take it easy on him in their Thanksgiving night matchup.

McAfee’s tweet has a GIF of an infamous Antonio Brown moment—a 2014 punt return against the Cleveland Browns where poor punter Spencer Lanning got kicked after Brown failed to hurdle over him. Arguably one of the best and most memorable NFL moments in recent memory, it was an instant classic of a GIF. It’s understandable that McAfee doesn’t want to be remembered for a similar incident.

The always charismatic Brown was quick with a reply of his own.

Brown does make a good point: if you don’t want a return, kick it to the sideline. And even if Brown gets a returnable punt, it’s not like McAfee is unable to take care of business on special teams. He’s got a few good hits to his name. Still, it was nice to see the two enjoying a bit of playful banter before a big game on national television.

In any event, Brown has his own advice for having a successful Thanksgiving. Other than staying out of his way, of course.
