Ole Miss defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche reportedly fell 15 feet out of a four-story window at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Atlanta on Saturday night, but he is in stable condition, according to The Clarion Ledger.
Atlanta police say that Nkemdiche “broke the window and then walked approximately 15 feet and climbed over a wall and fell approximately 15 feet.” A small amount of marijuana was also reportedly found in his hotel room. Nkemdiche was conscious and breathing when officers arrived at the scene.
How Nkemdiche managed to fall that far and have the worst thing that happen to him is “multiple cuts” when a normal person could have lost their life is unclear, but it does look like he will be okay. His status for the Sugar Bowl against Oklahoma State on New Year’s Day however, would appear to be very much in question. Ole Miss has yet to comment on Nkemdiche’s injuries.
Nkemdiche had a big season for Ole Miss, setting career highs in tackles, tackles for loss and sacks, and the defensive tackle is in most projected top tens for the 2016 NFL draft should he decide to go pro.
