These Supercross Riders Fighting After A Crash Will Make You Thankful For Helmets

There’s nothing more stupid/amusing in sports than when guys decide to fight with helmets on. It’s not just the fact that you’re more likely to do damage to your hand than the other guy’s face, it’s how stupid the aggressor always looks. With that said, here’s Supercross pro Weston Peick just unloading on fellow rider Vince Friese after a crash at the 2016 Anaheim One SX on Saturday night.

Peick lands a few blows, but because they’re landed on what’s surely a state-of-the-art helmet meant to protect Friese from the rigors of motorcycle crashes, they have basically no effect. In Peick’s defense, the two have a history of confrontations, with Friese crashing into Peick several times before including earlier in Saturday night’s event.

Peick did not go unscathed though, he was disqualified from the race, suspended for the next race and fined $5,000 for his outburst. As silly as it is to throw helmet punches — or fight in sports in general — I have to admit “Guy rams into you several times with a motorcycle” is just about as good a reason to punch someone as there is.
