Nathan Fillion Has Eyes For Miss Piggy In The New Promos For ‘The Muppets’

We are literally right around the corner from beginning TV’s new fall season, and one of the shows that’s gained a lot of interest is ABC’s new take on The Muppets. Described as a more adult-skewing series, the show will be presented in a mockumentary format similar to that of The Office and Modern Family. After ABC released the original pitch video for the series, the concept of a more mature Muppets series succeeded at winning many over. And then the drama unfolded…

With the highly publicized breakup of Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, the internet was all abuzz with gossip. It was only a week ago that we learned of our little green friend’s rebound relationship with Denise. But the show must go on, and ABC moved forward with new promos for the series. Taking Kermit and Piggy’s relationship woes in stride, the clips here feature celebrity cameos from sister shows on the network, which includes a very interested Nathan Fillion.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s Clark Gregg just won’t tell Pepe the King Prawn anything:

The Goldbergs star Wendi McLendon-Covey helps coach Gonzo with some acting tips:

Sweetums sits on Anthony Anderson’s phone and shows off his horrible lying skills:

And finally, Miss Piggy stars in her very own promo as a diva should:

ABC looks to be going all-in with promotion for the new program, and rightfully so. The big four networks seem to be heavily armed with promising-looking shows going into the fall, and Kermit and the gang have always seemed to be a surefire hit with bringing the viewers. Will the new series work? We don’t have too much longer to wait to find out, as The Muppets will premiere on ABC on September 22 at 8 p.m.
