What’s On Tonight: How I Met Your HEISENBERG

How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8 p.m.) — Not only a flashback episode, but a flashback episode about a love triangle. It’s like How I Met WANTS us to hate its final season. Except for the Bryan Cranston as Hammond cameo.

Monday Night Football (ESPN, 8:25 p.m.) — Can we shoot this Dolphins vs. Bucs game, and all its accompanying HOT TAKES, into the sun and never speak of it again? (Yes.)

Sleepy Hollow (Fox, 9 p.m.) — In the vaguest of plot descriptions, Abbie and Ichabod look for clues to stop the evil in town, the evil being the Pee-Wee Football Dallas Cowboys from Little Giants, probably.

Mom (CBS, 9:30 p.m.) — Strawberry lube is involved. That is all.

The Blacklist (NBC, 10 p.m.) — “When Red reveals a new name, Liz learns of a plot to destroy the country’s financial system.” The first half of that sentence shouldn’t make sense with the second half, but it does. It does.

LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Julianna Margulies on Letterman; Casey Affleck, Kelly Clarkson, and Lyle Lovett on Leno; Zooey Deschanel and Chris Elliott on Kimmel; LL Cool J on Ferguson; Billy Crystal and Evan Rachel Wood on Fallon; Chris Hadfield on Conan; Doris Kearns Goodwin on Stewart; and Peter Baker on Colbert.
