Dean Pelton Nominated For An Oscar

As any fan of Community knows, Dean Pelton is a man who wears many hats. The same can be said of Jim Rash, the guy who plays him on the show, apparently — Rash was nominated for an Oscar this morning for his role is helping to write The Descendants, which received a nomination in the Best Adapted Screenplay category.

Take a second to think about that and let it sink in: DEAN PELTON HAS BEEN NOMINATED FOR AN OSCAR!!!

Your move, Star-Burns.

Also noteworthy to people who read this site regularly: Jonah Hill, who we liked better when he was fat, nabbed a Best Supporting Actor nod for Moneyball. Additionally, Brad Pitt and George Clooney will compete for the Best Actor award, after years of competing against each other for People‘s Sexiest Man Alive award. And speaking of Best Actor, I’m kind of sad that Ryan Gosling didn’t also get a nod for Drive. I’m sure someone’s hard at work creating a Sad Ryan Gosling Tumblr as I write this to commemorate the snub.
