It will probably never not astound me how some people view everything though the prism of politics. Case in point: today on his radio show Rush Limbaugh essentially blamed Robin Williams’ death on him being a liberal, saying that Williams committed suicide because his “leftist worldview” caused his brain to be weak and dark and sick or something. Because conservatives don’t suffer from depression, apparently. And surely it had nothing to do with the fact that gifted, creative, intelligent people tend to be more inclined to mental illness, right?
“What is the left’s worldview in general?” Limbaugh asked listeners. “If you had to attach, not a philosophy, but an attitude to a leftist worldview. It’s one of pessimism, and darkness, sadness. They’re never happy, are they?…He had it all, but he had nothing. Made everybody else laugh, but was miserable inside. It fits a certain picture or a certain image that the left has.”
Nailed it. Hot suicide taek there, Limbaugh.
