In our first true sweep of the bracket, “Skin of Evil” pounded “28 Vulcans Later” into the floor. Don’t worry, Enterprise has a special running of the dogs of its very own coming up, but first we’ve got two less-than-classic episodes of classic drek, er, Trek.
“A Piece of the Action”
It’s a planet where the major religion is gangsters from the ’20s and ’30s! Which conveniently lets the show reuse Paramount’s New York set on the lot! Intended to be a funny episode, and it is, although rarely deliberately.
“The Way to Eden”
’60s TV did not take the Summer of Love very well, and this episode, about the Enterprise getting hijacked by a bunch of annoying space hippies who want to go to a magic planet, is one of the worst. The only upside is the hilarious finale, and Spock’s equally hilarious jam session.
Vote in the comments, and remember, whoever wins this one is going head to head with “Course: Oblivion”.
