Terry Gilliam has solved the problem of how to finish Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus without Heath Ledger, who had a major part in the film.

His solution is three different actors playing Ledger’s part: American Johnny Depp, Brit Jude Law, and Irishman Colin Farrell.  The change isn’t totally out of sync with the plot of the movie, which involves Ledger’s character falling through a magical mirror into an alternate reality.  Plus, it’s a Terry Gilliam movie – he could have hypnotoad finish the part and it probably wouldn’t be that much weirder than originally planned.

Still, you can’t help but feel for Frank Stallone, who really had his fingers crossed this time.
