Scott Pilgrim trailer recreated with panels from the comic

Here’s the trailer for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, as recreated using the accompanying panels from the graphic novel on which the movie is based. I haven’t read the comic book, so I was hoping this would explain why everyone’s nerding out on this movie so hard, when I’m kind of lukewarm on it.  It opens this weekend, and though the visuals and the razor-sharp editing could be enough to carry it, the underlying concept seems kind of lame. But what do I know, I’m just a handsome racecar driver.

Anyway, there are a couple places where the dialog in the trailer doesn’t match the comic perfectly, but for the most part, this should be enough to convince you that the movie is very faithful to the original comic (which is… good?).  Shockingly, the title card in the movie trailer saying “IT’S ON… LIKE DONKEY KONG.” did not appear in the original comic.  Well done, marketing department.  Very creative.  Treat yourselves to lunch.
