THE FUTURE BEGINS TO REPEAT ITSELF

Empire today has the UK poster for JJ Abrams’ Star Trek, at the bottom of which you’ll notice the tagline, “THE FUTURE BEGINS.”  Which, strangely enough, also used to be the subtitle for the fourth Terminator (now just called Terminator Salvation).  A search for “the future begins” also turns up 1.16 million Google hits.  What’s the term for the phenomenon of multiple people coming up with the same idea at the same time independently of each other?  I call it “synchronishitty.”
