In a Friday surprise, Warner Bros. announced their panels for the 2009 Comic-Con International in San Diego this year.
The studio will begin on Thursday, July 23 with a special 3-D Showcase in Hall H of “The Final Destination” from 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM. Rumors abound that other studios will also debut footage from other 3-D movies that day, but no one has confirmed at this time.
On Friday, July 24, things really get rolling for the WB as they rule the morning session of Hall H with panels, footage and talent from “Sherlock Holmes,” “Where The Wild Things Are,” “The Box,” “Jonah Hex,” “The Book of Eli” and “Nightmare on Elm Street.” The studio did not release any talent at this time, but speculation would center on Josh Brolin, Megan Fox (also pimping Fox’s “Jennifer’s Body”), Robert Downey, Jr. (who could also appear for Marvel Studios’ “Iron Man 2”), Jude Law, Spike Jonze, Denzel Washington (a first timer) and Cameron Diaz. Again, none of this talent is confirmed at this time.
Also on Friday, Robert Rodriguez will discuss his new family film “Shorts” in room DE.
Comic-Con International begins with a preview night on Wednesday, July 22. Full panels run from Thursday, July 23 through Sunday, July 26.
