Tom Waits will be releasing a double-disc live album on Nov. 24 of 17 tracks recorded during his “Glitter and Doom” tour last year — as well as a what could be called “Tom Waits’ Stage Banter: Greatest Hits.”

The latter is a 35-minute single track of Waits’ peculiar chatter between songs, compiled into one long monologue. Fans can expect jokes, fun facts and outright lies on “Tom Tales” from this carnival barker and bard.

By coughing up an email address, listeners can download preview eight of the tracks right now through his website.

“Glitter and Doom Live” was recorded last year when the singer-songwriter performed in a little over a dozen spots like St. Louis and Birmingham — not locales like New York and L.A., heavens no — in the U.S. last year, on top of a few dates in Europe. These songs were recorded in 10 of them, “from Paris to Birmingham; Tulsa to Milan; and Atlanta to Dublin” according to his website.

His last studio effort was 2006’s triple-disc rarities set “Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers & Bastards.”
