Have you ever found yourself thinking, “Man, someone should mash up Kendrick Lamar’s ‘King Kunta’ and the Super Mario Bros. theme song”? Well, the internet has once again answered your prayers: such a song totally exists, thanks to SoundCloud user Victory Laptop.
Fittingly called “Kendrick Lamario Bros,” the track is a minute-and-a-half long, featuring Kendrick’s “King Kunta” bars accompanied by the iconic 8-bit banger. As you listen to the song, try to imagine a two-dimensional Kendrick running through various levels and hopping on the heads of every enemy in sight. “I got a bone to pick,” he says angrily at Bowser, before sending him into a pool of hot fire (which could double for both a literal pool of fire and/or Kendrick’s fire lines).
“Kendrick Lamario Bros” is already at 57,100 plays since it dropped three days ago. The mashup joins many other rap and video game combinations, including this one that brings together Juicy J’s “Bands A Make Her Dance” and “Saria’s Song” from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (the remix was done by Netherlands-based producer Hitmane, but became popular because of the Vine below).
