Ryan Adams and Jenny Lewis have had a long and fruitful friendship. A couple years back in 2014, Lewis talked with me about how Adams helped her get back into recording and writing music following the death of her father.

Adams was a central figure in the last solo album from Lewis that came out that year, The Voyager — which was her first in six years — and it looks like maybe the old partnership is back to sparking some new music. Today Adams, who is a prolific and adept social media user, posted a photo of Lewis sitting at a piano in his Los Angeles studio, Pax Am. “Welcome Back, Lewis. We missed that awesome voice at #PaxAm,” he captioned the picture, before tagging her in it.

Recently, Lewis has had her hands full with her new supergroup Nice as F*ck, who just released their debut album in June. The group is made up of Au Revoir Simone’s Erika Forster, and the Like’s Tennessee Thomas, and first began performing together several months ago.

But now, with that album out, it seems Lewis might be returning to some solo stuff. With Pax Am and Adams onboard, whatever is coming from Lewis is sure to be incredible. And hey, even if it’s just some old friends goofing around in the studio, that’s cute too.
