As was (sort-of) expected, Chris Brown’s Australian visa was denied on the grounds of his history of domestic violence. Australia’s Minister of Women made it very clear last week that she would be pushing for a visa denial, and it appears she got her wish.
Brown and his lawyers have 28 days to make a case for why Brown deserves to enter the country. If the decision stands, Brown will be forced to cancel his Australian tour.
Tickets to Brown’s Australian shows went on sale this morning, showing that the singer and his team are confident that they will be allowed into the country. In a since-deleted post on Facebook that was captured by The Music Network, Chris Brown explained that he was going to let the decision stand until he saw the reaction from Australian fans.
“Seriously, I said ‘F*ck it…I’m moving on. I was not gonna waste time trying to convince the officials to remove the temporary ban to Australia. Not like it’s gonna stop me from being great. But every time I check my mentions it’s an Aussie fan telling me ‘F*ck that. Fight it.They using you as a scapegoat because times are bad right now and politicians wanna look good.’ It boosted new energy in me. This is gonna be like Romeo and Juliet. Trying keepin’ us apart will only make the love between me & Team Breezy stronger. The people that love me clearly don’t give a f*ck what the opposers think and neither do I.”
Breezy’s caption was on a screenshot of an Instagram conversation between him and a fan. Brown told the fan that “it’s media and all bullsh*t” after telling her that he’s coming to Australia.
This isn’t the first time that Brown has been denied entry to a foreign country. The United Kingdom and Canada have barred the singer from traveling in their borders due to Brown’s controversial past.
