Few, if any, artists had a better Sunday night than Chance the Rapper. Between winning Grammys for Best Rap Album, Best New Artist (for which he gave a killer speech), and Best Rap Performance, along with his incredible performance that included a medley of the songs “How Great,” “All We Got,” “Blessings,” and “No Problem,” Chance established himself as one of the heavyweights in the music industry.
The basketball community was especially stoked for Chance’s big night. Several current and former players, along with a few teams, decided to offer their congratulations to Lil Chano from 79th.

Speaking of the Bulls, his wins were especially big among Chicagoans, which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. Most notably, Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union were both fired up to see their friend have such a big night.
Happy for my brother @chancetherapper on the Grammy!!! Way to rep the city fam!

And in an ultimate sign of solidarity between Chance and sports legends from his home city, Scottie Pippen gave him a shout out on Twitter.
Congrats to Chicago's own @chancetherapper on his first Grammy! Keep changing the game! #GRAMMYs pic.twitter.com/xEELELG2VG

No one is especially shocked that Chance had a huge evening – Coloring Book was among the most universally-acclaimed albums of the year, while he popped up in a few places with guest verses on tracks like “Ultralight Beam” by Kanye West. As long as he keeps producing music, we’re going to keep seeing Chance on nights like this, and everyone – not just the NBA’s players and teams – will get excited.
