Brook Lopez Tips In The Game-Winner Against The Knicks at MSG

With time winding down and the game tied at 98-98, Nets center Brook Lopez was able to tip-in a Deron Williams miss with two seconds left to beat the Knicks at Madison Square Garden and sweep the season series against them 4-0.

Brooklyn led by as many as 16 points late in the third before the Knicks went on a 17-7 run to open the fourth quarter. Lopez finished with 18 points, seven rebounds, and five blocks, but it was Deron Williams who had arguably his best game of the season as he put up 26 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists.

The Nets have now won five straight and nine out of their last 11. Wednesday’s win also ties them with the Miami Heat for the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

Coming up, the Nets have a back-to-back this weekend starting Friday at home against the Toronto Raptors before heading to Atlanta Saturday to meet the Hawks. They’ll follow that up next week with a three-game home-stand against the Portland Trailblazers, the Hawks again, and the Washington Wizards.
