The Newest ‘NBA 2K17’ Trailer Highlights Ben Simmons’ Awful Jumper And Some Insane Physicality

The only way to properly comprehend the physicality of NBA basketball is to see it first hand, in person, and up close. Well, at least until the latest edition of NBA 2K drops next month. The newest trailer for the upcoming version of the gaming world’s best basketball franchise highlights the intensity of playing in the NBA – from before the opening tip until after the final buzzer sounds.

The prevalence of bully ball, hyper-realistic player reactions, signature celebrations, and overall tension should be the biggest takeaway from “Friction.” Only a select few will know what it’s like to actually play in the NBA, but this trailer makes it clear 2K17 will help the masses gain a much better understanding of the physical and emotional rigors associated with that privilege.

Still, there’s a specific aspect of “Friction” we just can’t quite get past: Ben Simmons’ jumper. Does this look like the shooting form of a player who’s poised to ever become a legitimate threat from the perimeter?

Yikes.

But don’t let your prized rookie’s ugly release ruin your excitement for 2K17, Philadelphia 76ers fans. If Simmons’ jumper is this broken in the virtual reality world, it’s safe to say his playmaking flair and overall dynamism will be just as evident, too.

We’ll find out for sure when NBA 2K17 is finally released on September 20.
