Kobe Bryant may be done with his playing career, but he’s just starting his next one. While the Lakers legend hasn’t announced yet exactly what that may entail, right now it looks like he’s taking a shot at some coaching and personal training.
According to a clip from TMZ Sports, Shareef O’Neal, the Diesel’s talented 16-year-old son, is working with Bryant to get better on the bball court. The sophomore, who plays at LA’s Windward School, is listed as a four-star on national recruiting sites and currently has offers from Baylor, LSU, UCLA, USC and Kansas State.
Man, that’s just not fair. It’s nice enough that you get the genes of a Hall-of-Famer, along with the best coaching that money can buy, but now you get access to one of the best players of all time to help you work on your game.

If Shareef ends up as a lottery pick in three or four years, we’re all going to look back at a development like this as the difference between a very good teenager and a franchise-building player. Apart from the physical skills, getting a chance to learn how Kobe thinks and competes is something that may help him out even more than a killer jump shot down the road.
Or, he’ll just beef with Bean because he’s an “idiot” kid, before reconciling after he retires.
