Steph Curry Broke Out The Carlton Dance At A Celebrity Golf Tournament

Everyone has tried to do the Carlton dance at one time or another. It’s the perfect dance: everyone knows it, it’s really silly, and no one has ever said the phrase “man, don’t do the Carlton dance, I hated that dance and I hated The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, so stop.”

Above everything else, it’s an easy dance to learn. You basically shimmy your body while swinging your arms from side to side. Sure, there are a few more elements to it that come a little later in the song, but for the most part, everyone knows what to do once Tom Jones’ “It’s Not Unusual” comes on the radio.

It’s also the first thing anyone thinks about whenever they see Alfonso Ribeiro, which is unfortunate, because he calls the dance the pleasure and the bane of his existence. But he always seems like he’s willing to do the dance, and during a golf tournament over the weekend, Ribeiro was standing by a tee with Steph Curry and Justin Timberlake.

While “It’s Not Unusual” didn’t play, the trio still did the dance. Ribeiro was great, of course, while Curry and Timberlake looked pretty comfortable doing the dance with one another. And of course, like any person, Curry loved getting the chance to have some fun with Ribeiro and Timberlake.

It probably won’t happen, but it would be pretty great if Curry celebrated a big three during the 2016-17 season by running to mid-court and dancing like no one’s watching.
