‘Captain America: Civil War’ May Provide A Clever Twist On Spider-Man’s Iconic Costume

The rumors about Captain America: Civil War are in full flow now, with apparent factions being formed and cameos being filmed. We know Spider-Man is going to be in the film, possibly as a main combatant (but that’s doubtful), and now we might know how he comes upon his iconic costume. And for once, the source makes a lot of sense in the framework of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This one once again comes from Heroic Hollywood — with a bit of help from Comic Book — and they claim that Spider-Man will wear two costumes in the film and his classic suit will be a gift from Tony Stark:

In the beginning of the film we are getting the home made version of the suit that has been heavily rumored, that’s for sure…That one Peter Parker gets towards the end of the film from Tony Stark that features the traditional blue and red color scheme.

That’s where Comic Book comes into play, reporting on a possible leaked image of the suit that is floating around, showing the classic color scheme that the character is known for. Is this a crazy thought? Not at all. The original Civil War story toys around with Tony Stark giving Spider-Man a new costume, it just turns out to look a lot like this:

There’s no way the folks at Marvel are going to bring that into the film and sorta shuffling the deck a bit between Spider-Man’s homemade costume being more lowkey and the nice, iconic one coming from Tony Stark makes a lot of sense. Also saves a lot of time because you can just explain any of the lingering details on Spider-Man’s character with Tony Stark before you get to the solo Spider-Man film in a few years.

How does this rumor sit with you? It certainly feels more solid than any rumor related to Spider-Man being firmly in the fight throughout the movie.
