‘Gotham’ Will Go After Donald Trump Next Season

Donald Trump’s campaign feels very familiar, if you’re a fan of comic books. It feels, at any moment, like the veil will drop and he’ll reveal he’s really the Ultra-Humanite, or a man in a leotard and domino mask will swoop in on a rope in the middle of a rally and unmask Trump as a Venusian or something. And we’re not the only ones who’ve noticed, as it sounds like Gotham is going after Trump next season.

Cory Michael Smith, who plays the future Riddler on the show, mentioned that the third season of the series would be getting into the election, although he didn’t offer any details, and that it was originally posted in Italian didn’t help. But come on, we’re talking about a show that did this on national TV:

And that’s not even the most ridiculous moment from that episode. Of course they’re going after Trump. He’s practically a character on the show already. They might even try to hire Trump to play himself as a homicidal supervillain, because that’s how Gotham rolls.

Of course, they may tone it down just slightly. Gotham City, in addition to the fact that pretty much every police officer aside from Gordon and Bullock are dead, needs a new mayor, so perhaps we’ll see yet another candidate out to make Gotham great again. Hey, the last mayor was an insane cultist, so Trump running things would be a step up.
