Chris Pratt Wants Star-Lord To Team Up With The Punisher

We know Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord, along with other characters from Guardians Of The Galaxy, are going to show up in Avengers: Infinity War as just some of the 68 “distinct characters” directors Joe and Anthony Russo have said will appear in the film. We’ve made plenty of speculations about who might show up in Infinity War, and now we can rule one character out, although Pratt would cast him if he could.

When We Got This Covered asked Chris Pratt who he’d like Star-Lord to meet, he named The Punisher while acknowledging he’s not in the movie (damn). Here’s the video and the relevant quote, as transcribed by Screen Rant:

“Oh, gosh. I don’t know. I’ll have to leave all that to Marvel, releasing who’s going to fight what. Me personally, I don’t even know the right answer to that. If I say the wrong thing I’ll get in trouble by Marvel or by the fans. It’d be awesome — I would like Peter Quill to meet the Punisher. He’s not in the movies, but if I’m talking Marvel Cinematic Universe, I think it’d be cool for Peter Quill. Punisher was my favorite growing up so that’d be cool for me to meet him.”

As much as we’d love Jon Bernthal of Netflix’s Daredevil to bring even more Frank Castle badassery to screens of any size, Marvel TV and Marvel Studios are two separate entities, with crossovers between the two being difficult to arrange, rights-wise. Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) appeared in Marvel TV shows, but that was after they had (probably) done their last Marvel Studios film appearances. On the other hand, Jaimie Alexander had a cameo as Lady Sif in Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and is still going to appear in Thor: Ragnarok, so it’s possible to do both.

Another Daredevil star, the titular Daredevil Charlie Cox, has even said his character might be re-cast if Daredevil were to appear on film. That won’t stop us from wishful thinking about a Star-Lord/Punisher team-up, though. Those are two guys who know how to brood behind bars…
