Take A Closer Look At The Power Of The Empire With These New ‘Rogue One’ Photos

You love Star Wars. I love Star Wars. Everyone loves Star Wars. We can never get enough Star Wars in our lives and somebody out there knows it judging by a new set of stills from Rogue One that came down from the heavens and landed on the internet late last week.

The photos come from the official pile according to SlashFilm, and feature three new shots from the origin story set for release around Christmastime. They come directly from the Making Star Wars website and feature some our best looks yet at the Death Troopers. In the images, we see Felicity Jones’s Jyn Erso cuffed and looking annoyed, Ben Mendelsohn’s Krennic about to draw a blaster and looking annoyed, and those bunch of rifle-wielding, black suit-clad ‘deathtroopers’ ready for battle. Never before has looking annoyed been so thrilling. If there’s any doubt as to how much power the Empire wields at point in the Star Wars timeline, these images should take care of that.

There’s a Yahoo! Movies exclusive tag in the photo of Jones. A cursory look through that site’s Star Wars material doesn’t turn up that image anywhere, so perhaps that’s why she looks annoyed.

Feel the intensity dripping from all that annoyance? These shots don’t come with the same kind of hype that involves, say, a new trailer, or rumors of reshoots and script doctors. But the appetite for more Star Wars fodder pretty much at all times definitely exists and these pics are proof.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story lands in theaters on Dec. 16. You can expect to see plenty more photos, video and other stuff before then, though. Which is not annoying in the slightest.
