While the X-Men franchise has been keeping him plenty busy over the last few years, Bryan Singer has already lined-up his next, non-mutant related film at Fox. And to sweeten the pot, he’ll be working with one of the writers of Arrow.

Bryan Singer is tackling an adaptation of The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, based on the classic sci-fi book by Robert A. Heinlein. Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim will adapt the book for the project, which will be titled Uprising. (via THR)

The 1966 novel focuses on the revolt of lunar colony against Earth rule. Singer’s film will mark the third time an adaptation of the novel has been attempted, with the previous two – one at Dreamworks and one at Phoenix Pictures – never making it to a production stage. Whether or not Singer’s film can break that cycle remains to be seen.
