Chance The Rapper Won’t Let Lil Wayne Retire

Chance The Rapper is leading the Lil Wayne prayer circle with some encouraging tweets in light of Wayne’s surprising “retirement” announcement early Saturday morning. Lil Chano from Chicago is refusing to sit idly by while one of his favorite rappers, who he credits with influencing him to rap, calls it quits.

Following Weezy F’s tweets, Chance told the YMCMB frontman to “be encouraged,” and reminded him of his strength. “Dear @LilTunechi,” the Coloring Book rapper directly addressed, “I just wanna remind you that absolutely nothing and no one in this world can defeat you. Tell them devils back back.”

Missy Elliott is also in the Wayne prayer circle. The hitmaker told Wayne she was praying for him and to push through, writing, “Prayers up 4 whatever u may be enduring right now this to will pass & may u find PEACE. I will always be a fan of your work.” If Wayne does decide to get back, Rick Ross has a label situation for him. The Maybach Music Group bawse told a fan to “get Birdman on the phone” when they begged him to buy out Wayne’s contract so he can be freed from the Cash Money head honcho’s grubby grasp.

Other hip hop stars have chimed in, expressing their love and appreciation for the rapper who once sold an impression one million records in a single week.
