The Flaming Lips Pulled Off An Incredibly Involved April Fools' Day Prank

For the Flaming Lips April Fools Day’ prank to work, you have to accept that they haven’t “sold out” already, despite proof, a.k.a. Virgin Mobile commercials and Ke$ha duets, to the contrary. OK, got it? Got it. The Flaming Lips companion album to Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon is real, but it’s also not, because it’s a part of a greater Flaming Lips/Funny or Die collaboration. The punchline: the Lips are ready to sell out.

Haha? Not really, although Michael Bay’s Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots is a stroke of brilliance.
