Meet The Midwestern Rock God Who Literally Bleeds For His Art

The first time you take a look at Jared James Nichols, an ’80s flashback is inevitable. It’s not just the classic electric-guitar sound, but the long, free-flowing rock-star hair that makes you think of ’80s hairbands of yesteryear.

And if that isn’t enough, here’s a guy who shuns modern-day guitar-player wisdom — ditching his guitar pick long ago in favor of a more intimate relationship with his strings. Bleeding literally for his art form.

But that’s where all this time machine nonsense ends. Jared James Nichols very much belongs in the year 2016. His fans think so. His art proves so. Even Southern rock legend Lynyrd Skynyrd would probably agree — that’s why they asked Jared to open for them during a recent European tour.

Take a listen, maybe you’ll be a fan too.
