Pearl Jam Rocks In The Free World With Bill Nye, Jason Sudeikis, And More

“Rockin’ in the Free World” has become, perhaps somewhat surprisingly, a triumphant sing along celebration song for Pearl Jam. Recently, they played it alongside Stephen Colbert on The Late Show, but that was just the precursor to their performance at the Global Citizen Festival this past weekend. Given the nature of that event, it should not be surprising that, when they got around to playing “Rockin’ in the Free World,” the stage was loaded down with stars.

You can see several notable people on the stage while Eddie Vedder and company tear through their song, including Kerry Washington, Richard Brandson, Jason Sudeikis, and Olivia Wilde. However, perhaps most prominently, you can see Bill Nye the Science Guy among the masses imploring us to keep on rocking in the free world. Wearing his trademark bow tie, Nye dances and sings along and, well, generally seems like a scientist trying to keep pace with some rock legends and young, sexy celebrities.

If you enjoy celebrities having a good time and dancing, then this is the performance for you. It was a busy weekend for Vedder, overall, as he also performed a version of “Redemption Song” alongside Beyoncé. There’s no word on where Nye was during that.
