Rihanna’s Cute New Tattoo Is A Reference To A Date Night With Drake

AubRih Watch 2016 continues as we now head on down to Rihanna’s feet for more clues on her romantic relationship with frequent collaborator Drake. After awkwardly kissing at the 2016 VMAs on Sunday and again at the Miami stop of Drake’s Summer Sixteen tour Wednesday night, it appears as though Rihanna has taken her situationship with the multi-talented rapper up a notch with a new tattoo.

While backstage at Drake’s show recently, the 28-year-old powerhouse got a camouflage-print shark tattoo inked on her foot. Apparently, the tattoo is a reference to an August date night with Drizzy where he took the singer to a Toronto aquarium and copped her a stuffed animal shark from the aquarium’s gift shop. Celebrity tattoo artist Bang Bang, who’s inked Rihanna before, said the tattoo has special “significance” to Rih.

“The significance is personal,” Bang Bang told Vanity Fair. “That’s really all I can say. I’ve seen many people guessing the meaning online, but it’s not my place to share publicly. I will say, I’ve made many tattoos for Rihanna and this one was my favorite!” Bang Bang also revealed Rihanna requested a “camouflage shark” and he quickly drew three with the final result being one his designs.

Rihanna’s new tattoo joins the 20+ pieces already inked on her body, including Henna-inspired tats on her hands and a gigantic Goddess Isis chest piece dedicated to her grandmother, who died in 2012 after battling cancer.
