Watch They Might Be Giants’ Amazing Cover Of Destiny’s Child’s ‘Bills, Bills, Bills’ For A.V. Undercover

Four years ago, They Might Be Giants covered Chumbawamba’s “Tub Thumping” for the A.V. Club’s Undercover, an annual project in which artists perform quirky cover songs, and it was an instant classic. Dare I say, internet breaking, even? So, when I saw They Might Be Giants perform in Philadelphia earlier this year, I was fortunate enough to get a sneak peek of their latest A.V. Undercover project, a cover of “Bills, Bills, Bills” by Destiny’s Child.

Today is like Christmas morning for me because, after months of waiting, it’s finally here, and it does not disappoint. It’s even more incredible that in the accompanying interview (below), the Johns tell A.V. Club that prior to coming into the studio, they had actually never even heard the song before. Amazing. If you squint your eyes a little bit, Linnell almost looks like Beyonce?

Here’s their first A.V. Undercover rendition of Chumbawamba’s “Tub Thumping”:
