Playing Cornhole From A Goodyear Blimp Is As Ridiculous (And Awesome) As It Sounds

On New Year’s Day Alabama and Michigan State will face off in the Cotton Bowl for the right to play in the National Championship game, but ahead of their all-important showdown on Friday, the Crimson Tide and Spartans engaged in a different kind of battle: the world’s largest game of cornhole.

Two cheerleaders from each team got to take a ride in the Goodyear Blimp and try their hand at dropping some massive beanbags onto the target from 200 feet in the air, and while neither team was able to land the coveted 3-point slot, they each at least got one on the board.

The game set a Guinness World Record for the largest cornhole game (I can only imagine what the previous record was) as the board the cheerleaders were aiming for was a massive 2,048 square feet.

Also on hand were Big Al and Sparty, the team’s respective mascots, and they tried their hand at the giant board from ground level. Big Al’s throw was just a bit outside and ended up flattening the poor unsuspecting MSU cheerleaders.

In case Mark Dantonio needed more bulletin-board material, the fact that the Alabama mascot nearly murdered two of the team’s cheerleaders before the game might do the trick.
