Baltimore Ravens cornerback Tray Walker passed away on Friday afternoon as a result of injuries he sustained in a car accident on Thursday night in Miami. Walker, 23, was reportedly riding a dirt bike when he was struck by another vehicle.
While riding alongside another (currently unknown) NFL player, Walker was involved in a collision with a Ford Focus at a two-way stop. He was not wearing a helmet and reportedly suffered serious head trauma as a result of the accident.

Initial reports also indicated that Walker’s dirt bike did not have lights, and he was wearing dark clothing at the time. The driver of the other vehicle stayed on-scene and cooperated with authorities following the incident.
The cornerback’s agent, Ron Butler, provided this statement following the accident on Thursday:
“I think it was more recreational riding but I don’t know everything,” Butler said. “I just know they were kind of joy-riding. … For Tray, it’s unfortunate. He’s got such a promising career. He was doing all the right things to try to turn himself into a great pro. The Ravens are a first-class organization, surrounding him with the right people.”
Walker was a fourth-round pick out of Texas Southern in 2015, playing eight snaps for the Ravens in his rookie season.
