Here’s A Reason To Hate Your Co-Workers

Ladies and gentlemen, introducing the video that will soon be posted on 2 million Facebook and Twitter accounts, as well as every blog from here to the European site that copies all of our posts, and I fully endorse the attention it’s about to receive. Tweeted earlier by Sports Illustrated’s Jimmy Traina, this video is one of the rare reminders that there are good people left in this country and we’re not completely surrounded by hateful scumbags who are so miserable that their only natural recourse is to try to make the rest of us miserable.

But enough about politicians, this is about a guy named Kyle and the impact that he has had on his friends. An impact so strong, that it led to this heart-warming story and video. Watch it after the jump and I dare you not to reach for your Claritin.

The video’s description in case your co-workers are dicks and block YouTube:

If you’ve been to the UC Davis Coffee House at some point these past couple years, you’ve met Kyle. And I’m pretty sure he waved at you with the biggest smile, and greeted you like you were one of his closest friends. The kid works 35+ hours a week, is taking an astonishing 21 units, and is supporting himself through school. He is a fantastic co-worker, a great friend, and someone that would have anyone’s back.

With the help of his CoHo coworkers and their spontaneous donations, this goober got an extra special surprise after Game 1… a ticket to see his favorite team play in the World Series, ticket and transportation costs covered completely.

Have a great time Kyle, CoHo loves you!

I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m a sucker for commercials like the Google spot with the dad making the video for his daughter or especially Publix holiday ads, but this video of Kyle – who is being rewarded solely for being a good friend, which is so simple yet respectable – should be one of those ads. Hell, if I’m a Major League Baseball marketing wizard, I’m inviting Kyle to the rest of the World Series just to milk this. Also, I’m sending me a St. Louis Cardinals Nike track jacket for coming up with the idea. Thanks in advance, MLB.
