It’s a little hard to believe that Preacher is finally coming together. But after years in development hell, the cast for the pilot has been locked in, and it both confirms rumors and has a few surprises.

First up, according to Tracking Board, Dominic Cooper is officially your Jesse Custer. That’s not a surprise: Cooper was heavily rumored to be the frontrunner for the role. A bit more surprising, though, is Lucy Griffiths showing up.

You probably know Griffiths for being written out of Constantine after the pilot, but according to Deadline, she’s been cast as Emily, who is “a no-nonsense single mother of three who is a waitress, the church organist, bookkeeper and Jesse’s loyal right hand.” This is a bit of a departure from the original comic, where Jesse’s receiving of the entity called Genesis triggers a nuclear explosion and kills the entire Texas town he’s the preacher for. Either that’s not happening, or Emily has unexpected business in Lubbock or something.

Also confirmed? The notorious Arseface. Although we probably won’t see his face without hideous makeup, here’s what Ian Colletti looks like anyway, and at least he’s excited for it:

And with Ruth Negga as Tulip and Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy, the main cast is pretty much complete. Now, they just have to shoot the pilot and have AMC actually take it to series. Easy, right?
