Let’s Liveblog Wednesday’s Geeky TV: ‘Arrow’ Is Unchained

Just like every superhero has an evil version of themselves, every good-guy hacker on television must meet their match in an evil hacker who seems more skilled than they are, at least until the final few minutes. And so it is with Felicity, the newly christened Overwatch, versus the Calculator.

Yes, DC has a villain called The Calculator, and he really did dress like a calculator and try to fight Batman, using his superpower of evoking pity for thinking office supplies could be intimidating. Thankfully, DC realized he’d be more interesting as a hacker and information broker, so he’s actually been an interesting character over the last few years. Here he appears to be out to kill Team Arrow, you know, because that’s a good idea that always works and doesn’t end with you taking an arrow to a sensitive and yet somehow-non-fatal body part.

Beyond that, we’ve got a bunch of new faces being thrown into the mix. Colton Hayes, fresh from being in the Rock’s earthquake movie, will be back as Arsenal, and Nyssa Al Ghul will be back as well, presumably because… well, really we can’t think of a reason, but we’re sure the show has one. The action starts tonight at 8 p.m. EST on the CW. Join us, won’t you?
