The cast of Fox’s Grease: Live musical is coming together. Sandy and Danny will be played by Julianne Hough and Aaron Tveit, respectively, while the envious role of Rizzo went to… Vanessa Hudgens? Uh, sure. There have been other announcements, too, including Keke Palmer as Marty, but none are half as exciting as Carly Rae Jepsen as Frenchy, the beauty school dropout who will enroll in Snapchat school, or something, for this production.
Also just cast: Lindsay from You’re the Worst, who is, in fact, the best.
Fox’s Grease: Live has found its remaining Pink Ladies, announcing Wednesday that “Call Me Maybe” singer Carly Rae Jepsen will play Frenchy and You’re the Worst actress Kether Donohue will play Jan in the live musical production. David Del Rio has also been cast as Putzie in this rendition of the classic musical. (Via)
Grease: Live premieres on January 31, 2016, at which point I will make a million “you’re the one that I really really really really really really want” jokes and expect to hear at least one Kate Bush song. Hey, it makes about as much sense as having 33-year-old Stockard Channing play a high school student.
I would also accept death metal Grease.
