Here’s George R.R. Martin Chewing On The New ‘Game Of Thrones’ Book As A Zombie

Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin will make a cameo appearance on Syfy’s Z Nation as a zombie version of himself. He will be seen signing a book called A Promise Of Spring, as a nod to the concluding book in the as-yet-unfinished Game of Thrones series, Entertainment Weekly reports. The outlet also has three exclusive photos of Martin as a zombie.

Game of Thrones geeks will recognize that a A Promise of Spring is similar to the real name of the last book in his mega-popular series, A Dream of Spring. Before Martin can actually get to that one, he has to finish book six, The Winds of Winter. The point of this cameo for Martin, though, is to show fans that he’s still working. As he tells Entertainment Weekly, “I just want to prove to my fans that even in the Zombie Apocalypse, the Song of Ice and Fire books will still come out!”

Martin will appear in the eighth episode of this upcoming season of Z Nation. He will be imprisoned by somebody called the Collector, who, um, collects celebrity zombies for some mysterious but definitely evil purpose. Martin most recently appeared in Sharknado 3, which also aired on Syfy, where he actually died onscreen. With this latest cameo, it doesn’t seem like he’s faring well in multiple Syfy universes.
