HBO’s Renewal Fairy Pays A Visit To ‘Game Of Thrones,’ ‘Veep’ And ‘Silicon Valley’

HBO has the best Sunday night roster of shows on television, and it looks like it’s going stay that way for a while longer. Deadline is reporting that the premium network just went ahead and renewed all the shows that make up their current Sunday evening block before their current seasons even air.

That means Game of Thrones has been picked up for another season, which is pretty much the most obvious move in the book. But still unclear is whether or not the network plans to end the show on season seven as originally planned or if they’ll split the conclusion into two seasons with less episodes. I dunno, even though it would net us a few extra episodes in the long run, it still sounds like a corporate decision similar to splitting the last Divergent movie in two, or The Hobbit into three parts.

Also renewed: Silicon Valley will get a season four, and Veep will have a season six. That’s good news for those worried Veep might jump the shark with creator and showrunner Armando Iannucci out of the picture for season five. If HBO has already decided to lock the show in, they must be happy with the quality of the program.

Fans of these shows will get to vouch for the quality themselves this Sunday, April 24 when all three premiere. We can’t wait.
