Donald Trump was this year’s 69th (nice) most popular Halloween costume, according to Google’s Frightgeist, which seems low. He’s by far 2016’s most-talked about public figure, and there are many ways to make the outfit your own. You can be Sexy Donald Trump (is there anything more horrifying?), or Build the Wall Trump, or Celebrity Apprentice Trump, or if you’re Lena Dunham, Grab Them by the P*ssy Trump. The Girls creator’s costume was inspired by comments the Republican presidential nominee made in 2005, when he bragged to Access Hollywood‘s Billy Bush, “I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait.” He continued, “And when you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the p*ssy. You can do anything.”
Dunham, who captioned her photo on Instagram, “Happy Halloween! With love from a Grabbed P*ssy,” told People that she found Trump’s “locker room” comments to be “shocking,” adding, “I know that hearing those words was painful for everybody. I think women, and people of color, and Muslims who have been searched at the airport, and transpeople who have been denied their rights, all know what it feels like to have their body taken from them. Those comments aren’t just about women — they were about everyone whose body is treated like the property of other people.”
Something tells me Dunham, who’s campaigning for Hillary Clinton in North Carolina, is already preparing her You’re Fired Trump costume for Nov. 9.
